GOVERNANCE
Membership churches may have Council Members who serve as the liaison between Yokefellow and their church. Some churches choose to make financial donations as a part of their mission budget or special offerings from time to time. Other churches assist by providing for our food pantry. Each participating church is assigned a food item to keep our pantry filled sufficiently to meet the needs of those we assist. In most cases, the Council Members, or an assignee, is responsible for delivering the food items to Yokefellow. The period of time for a specific item of food for each church is four months. This item changes three times each year.
The Council Members represent their church when Board Members rotate and new people to serve on the Board are needed. Council Members are notified by letter and are provided a nomination form to return with a person they, or their church, feels would be an outstanding candidate to serve as a Yokefellow Board Member. Following the receipt of nominations, the Nominating Committee reaches out to the candidates, and a vote by the Board will determine new members.
